Fierce and Tender

Qiao Mian is the adopted daughter of the Qiao family, and in everyone's eyes, a jealous, vicious murderer. Everyone avoids her. Even her closest aunt is wary of her taking her place, repeatedly warning her that men and women should keep their distance and shutting her out time and time again. No one believes in her or loves her. They simply let her rot and wither in her own world. Until one day, Huo Yanchen, the pride of Nancheng whom everyone holds in awe, barges into her life without a care in the world. He says, “Done crying? Get up. I'll help you fight back.” He also says, “Never be afraid. I'll always be right behind you.” He forcefully tears away the gloom surrounding her, claiming her completely and spoiling her without limit. Someone challenges him: “How could a fallen adopted daughter like her ever be worthy of President Huo?” Huo Yanchen steps in personally to set them straight: “A Mian is a priceless gem. I'm the one who isn't worthy of her.”
