This is not one of today's popular wish-fulfillment novels. Set against a backdrop of social change, it portrays the real lives of ordinary people in the rural villages and forest regions of Northeast China.

Thoughts on writing "Northern Parasite": This is my first time writing a novel, my debut, and possibly my only novel. It lasted 80 days and 106,000 words. For writing experts, it's not worth mentioning. For me, if I can persist in writing, I feel a sense of accomplishment. Because I had only written compositions in school before, and except for a 45,000-word memoir "Recording the Years That Are Not Far Away" that I wrote on Tomato some time ago, I had never published any works. I heard that good articles are all revised. After "Northern Parasite" was written and published, I originally wanted to put it away for a while and revise it carefully. I never thought that when I wanted to modify it again, the platform reminded me that it had been discontinued and could no longer be modified. I had no choice but to apply and complete it after a few days. This was also caused by not understanding the rules, and I was helpless and regretful. The characters in "Parasite" basically have their prototypes in real life. Some writers said that the characters in the works have their own development rules and are not controlled by the writer at all. I didn't understand this statement at the time. Only when I wrote it myself did I realize its profound truth. For example, when the fate of the characters Shanshan and Li Dongmei in this novel was created, it felt unclear, as if something was pushing them. Some people must think this is nonsense, and people who don't write can't understand it at all.
