They’re Just an Ordinary, Low-Key God

The ancient true god Jing Lan had slept for tens of thousands of years. When he finally awoke, he found the world had changed beyond recognition.

With his divine powers dormant, he was forced to join the hottest industry around just to put food on the table: livestreamed fortune-telling.

But this man reads fortunes by “looking” at the aura of death, bluntly warning people of bloody calamities. His talismans look like abstract art, and when it comes to exorcising ghosts, he knows only one move: punch them into oblivion, literally! The viewers in his livestream are dumbfounded. “You call that just knowing a little?!”

As Jing Lan becomes an unlikely sensation thanks to his “might makes right” approach, trouble keeps piling up, and he catches the attention of Ji Yuming, director of the National Special Incident Investigation and Response Bureau, or the Special Affairs Bureau.

The cold, domineering, and exceptionally capable director expects to face a dangerous criminal. Instead, he is drawn to Jing Lan’s overwhelming power and utterly inhuman nature. His worldview is repeatedly turned upside down, until he willingly becomes Jing Lan’s loyal puppy, cleaning up his messes, presenting him with “offerings,” and serving as his personal support staff and number-one enforcer.

Jing Lan, meanwhile, discovers that this seemingly cold mortal director can somehow stir the heart that has lain dormant for ten thousand years.

Faced with one supernatural incident after another and conspiracies lurking in the shadows, the ancient true god makes his position clear in the most direct way: fancy occult tricks? He can’t do those! But no evil spirit can withstand a single punch from him.

I only know a little, that’s all!
