Mu Qing was an ordinary young man, but after his grandfather died, he was unexpectedly drawn into a strange supernatural incident. Before his death, his grandfather left him a mysterious jade pendant. The moment Mu Qing opened the wooden box, he accidentally awakened an ancient power hidden within the pendant, rousing a netherworld ghost officer, a fearsome being who controlled life and death.
The ghost officer took up residence inside Mu Qing, becoming his source of power in the fight against ghosts. But the price was steep: Mu Qing was no longer entirely himself. The ghost officer's presence had seeped deep into his body and soul. From then on, Mu Qing's world was filled with terror and chaos. To survive, he had to make a "contract" with the ghost officer, using his own body to bear its power as he wandered between the realms of the living and the dead.
Trapped at the boundary between yin and yang, Mu Qing had to face threats from evil ghosts and wandering spirits, while also struggling against the ghost officer's power as it gradually awakened within him. Every battle pushed his mind and body to their limits. Could he hold on to his identity, or would he ultimately be consumed by that power and become an envoy of the underworld?
In a world where shadow and light intertwine, Mu Qing had to make difficult choices. And every choice would lead him toward a different fate...
