Taking My Comrades’ Memorial Portraits to See the New China, I Made the Whole Internet Weep!

[Modern setting + tales of comrades-in-arms + a moving revelation]

Jiang Huai was a decorated veteran of the War of Resistance Against Japan. After the founding of the country, he chose to live in seclusion so he would not become a burden on the nation.

By chance, Jiang Huai began reminiscing about the past. “My greatest regret in life is that I never got to bring my comrades’ spirits home.”

At first, people thought he was just seeking attention. That changed when they saw him on a livestream, riding a tricycle through the beautiful landscapes of the New Great Xia, carrying portraits of fourteen fallen martyrs.

In that moment, the whole internet was in tears...

[Grandpa Jiang, we’ve finally found you!]

[Please, Grandpa Jiang, start livestreaming! I want to send you money for travel expenses!]
