Above the Heavenly Court, auspicious clouds swirled around magnificent golden palaces arranged in orderly rows. On this day, inside the Lingxiao Hall, the Jade Emperor sat high upon his dragon throne as the gods stood in their appointed places. The atmosphere was solemn and stately.
Taibai Jinxing stepped forward with a horsetail whisk in hand and reported, "Your Majesty, auspicious signs have appeared throughout the Heavenly Court recently. This is surely the result of Your Majesty's virtue." The Jade Emperor nodded slightly, looking pleased. "You all have performed your duties well, and your contributions have been invaluable."
Just then, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong, bounced up and down nearby and shouted, "I think this Heavenly Court is way too boring! Every day, I either have to stand around listening to you all talk in fancy words or wander about. There's not even anywhere fun to go."
The Jade Emperor furrowed his brows. "Wukong, you mischievous monkey, you're spouting nonsense again. The Heavenly Court is a sacred place. How can you slander it so freely?"
