The Legend of the Great Qin Emperor

In the final years of the Warring States period, the land of China was engulfed in flames and smoke. Amid war, chaos, and untold suffering, Ying Zheng, son of Ying Yiren, was born in Handan, Zhao. Handan was a city adrift amid the flames of war, filled with fear, poverty, and disorder. Ying Zheng’s childhood began in surroundings such as these. He and his mother, Zhao Ji, depended on each other, living in a humble dwelling and often enduring the scorn and bullying of the people of Zhao. The narrow, shadowy alleys and dilapidated houses became the most vivid images in his childhood memories.
