On the mysterious, sprawling land of Yunnan, many terrifying secrets lie hidden from view. Darkness seems like an enormous curtain, silently descending over a place once alive with color and vitality.
My name is Lin Yu, a young and curious explorer. I thought Yunnan was simply a scenic tourist destination with beautiful mountains and rivers and a rich array of local cultures. I never imagined I was about to step into an endless nightmare of terror.
One fog-shrouded morning, I set off alone with my pack into a remote, ancient forest in the mountains of Yunnan. The mist wound and drifted among the old trees like a ghost’s veil. Every step seemed to draw a heavy sigh from the earth beneath my feet, as though it were warning this uninvited guest away. The silence all around was terrifying, broken only by the occasional strange birdcall, sharp and mournful, as if recounting ancient sorrow and fear.
Suddenly, a gust of eerie wind blew past, and I shuddered. The fog seemed to thicken, blurring everything before me, and I could only feel my way forward. Just then, I caught a glimpse of a shadow darting across the path ahead. Its shape was unlike any ordinary animal; it moved in a bizarre, contorted way. My heart began to race, and a powerful sense of unease welled up inside me. What was hidden in the mountains of Yunnan? Could those ancient tales of terror really be true?
