The story takes place in a youth hostel called "Shiguang Inn", which is located on the edge of a small city, close to the hustle and bustle of the city, but also far away from the tranquility of the world. The boss is a middle-aged couple-Li Zhiyuan and Chen Mengting. They loved traveling when they were young. After traveling around, they decided to open a youth hostel of their own to welcome travelers from all over the world. The couple has two children: 8-year-old daughter Li Xiaomi, who is innocent and lively, and 12-year-old son Li Chenxi, who is smart and precocious. There are also two permanent "guests" in the youth hostel: a lazy orange cat named Tuantuan, and a loyal black dog named Da Zhuang.
