The Burden of Conscience

(Strong female lead, the heroine is already at the top from the start | Light ensemble cast | Minimal romance, male lead appears very late, proceed with caution if that bothers you)

Gods and demons have fallen; only four of the Six Realms remain.

Yuan Zhao, revered as the Demon Lord of the Demon Realm, follows the gods’ request and faithfully protects its people. No one knows that she has guarded them for a hundred thousand years for no reason other than a single word from that god.

When an ancient god returns to the mortal world bearing hope and places a choice in Yuan Zhao’s hands, she can see the figure in her heart again, if that is what she wants.

Faced with the countless beings of the Demon Realm looking up to her, Yuan Zhao crushes that hope and buries herself in the abyss with her own hands.

The ancient god offers themself as a sacrifice. The age of the past will never return.
