The General Regrets Sending Her to the Desert as a Bride

Everyone in the capital said the little princess had no shame.

Day after day, she chased after the general, loudly insisting she wanted to marry him.

Yet the general would rather go south to guard the border than marry her.

He begged me through tears to go back with him.

My husband put an arm around my waist and asked, “Who’s this?”

I glanced at him and replied with a laugh, “Just a childhood playmate.”
