[Heartbreaking romance + tangled fates + a web of mysteries + the regretful pursuit of a lost wife]
The twin sisters Liu Qingyi and Liu Hansu have vastly different fates.
At birth, a fortune-teller branded Qingyi the family’s jinx. Abandoned in the countryside, she grew up with her grandmother. When the family went bankrupt and creditors came after the pampered younger sister, Hansu, their parents sent Qingyi in her place to pay off the debt.
By a twist of fate, Qingyi enters the wrong room, and a mysterious person accidentally takes her necklace. This unexpectedly brings to light a debt of gratitude from years ago, and the person who once received her help has since risen to immense power and prestige.
When Qingyi returns home, she is met with blame. As the creditors try to abduct both sisters, she flees in a panic. The mysterious person arrives and mistakes Hansu for the one who once helped them, resolving the family’s crisis.
Their parents are intent on currying favor with the powerful. To marry their beloved Hansu to the wealthy, mysterious man, they force Qingyi to disguise herself. But no disguise can hide the lies forever. Memories and mistaken identities collide, while love, hatred, gratitude, and grudges become entangled in a maze of intrigue. Is Qingyi suffering in her sister’s place, or is Hansu enjoying the affection meant for her sister? Everything remains shrouded in mystery, waiting to be revealed...
