"Wu Jing Zong Yao" is a military work written by Zeng Gongliang and Ding Du in the Northern Song Dynasty. China's first military book edited under the official leadership.
It is divided into two parts: first and last, each with 20 volumes.
The 20 volumes in the first collection reflect the military system of the Song Dynasty in detail, including the selection of generals and troops, formation of troops, marching and camping, ancient and modern formations, communication reconnaissance, fire and water warfare, weapons and equipment, etc. It is extremely valuable information for studying the history of ancient Chinese weapons.
The 20 volumes of the latter collection collect stories about military use in past dynasties, preserve a lot of ancient battle case information, and analyze and criticize battle cases and gains and losses in the use of troops in past dynasties.
