Yu Gu wrote one novel after another just for the love of it, never imagining that her unfinished, unrevised stories would become worlds. Because of her actions, the protagonists she envisioned will be subjected to the logic of their worlds.
When a world is "logicized," its will deems the protagonists foreign elements that must be purged, and arranges a series of hardships harder than climbing to heaven for them.
As their birth mother, can I just stand by while my children suffer so much?
No!
That was the idea behind this novel when I first started writing it.
But I began working on it while looking for a job and renting a place. My work wasn't very stable, so I couldn't set aside much time to plan it or write it. As a result, some chapters include my thoughts about work.
If it interests you, feel free to read it. If not, I'll make that clear in the chapter titles, so you can skip them.
