[Western Fantasy] [Lovecraftian] [Mechanical Revolution] [Alchemy] [Alternate World]
-
In an alternate world at the end of the nineteenth century, Simon, who transmigrated there, witnesses the story of a world where the fusion of machinery and the mysterious sparks a Third Industrial Revolution. Eerie monsters peer into the world through dreams, while humanity finds strength in despair to uphold its beliefs.
Here, people carve their ideals into the tops of towers. It is the end of one era and the prelude to another. Flames woven from black and white burn away the madness, leaving hope and light behind.
Here, death is destined to come for everyone. Beneath the strange masks, there is nothing. Flesh will rot with time, but the soul will not. Like a bird, it will be buried in the sky.
Here, when believers fold their hands in prayer, they no longer seek protection. They plead for their god to fall. The god is merciful and loving, and so willingly lets iron chains bind him, shedding every last drop of blood for his believers.
Here, greed has corrupted the families of old, and silent suffering bears down on everyone. Only dreams are free, and those dreams will break the silence and bring freedom.
Here, a true god has never appeared. God is dead. We killed him with our own hands, and now we have no clean water enough to wash the blood from them.
This is my account of what I have witnessed. Perhaps I was never meant to belong here, but this is what I was born for.
