My Years in Guangdong

Guangdong is a place where glamour and tears coexist. Hundreds of thousands of people flock here, chasing their dreams of success, but not everyone who works up a sweat gets rewarded. Absolutely not. Some people laugh here, while others shed tears.

I drifted from Hubei to Guangdong to pursue the dream in my heart. Like so many migrant workers who came to Guangdong, I gave up on continuing my education and headed south to seek my fortune. Back in school, I used to think about how much money I could earn from working, but in reality, even finding a steady job was difficult. That's reality. I once thought the sky was the limit, only to learn that my fate was as fragile as paper.
