The ghosts in this world are no longer like the ghosts we know.
Most of the dead leave behind obsessions and resentment. Those who die harboring resentment or an obsession become evil spirits after death, lingering around their corpses or wherever their resentment and obsessions are strongest.
They do not actively attack the living. Instead, they release a substance called Yin Mist in the areas where they linger. This mist vanishes when exposed to sunlight. Ordinary people generally cannot see the mist or the spirits within it. But if someone breathes it in for long enough, the Yin Mist hidden in the darkness will gradually become visible to them. If they step into the mist, the ghosts within will spot them like little insects stuck in a web they spun themselves, and lock onto them. And if that unlucky person catches sight of the terrifying evil spirit hidden in the mist, take a guess: what are their chances of surviving?
The answer is: 1%.
If an ordinary person is truly lucky enough to escape an evil spirit’s hunt, they may still be tainted by its power and become a special person known as a “Ghost-Tainted.”
As the name suggests, Ghost-Tainted people are those who have been corrupted by the power of ghosts.
Their bodies usually undergo certain changes. For example, the protagonist of this book, Feng Yu, had his eyes tainted by ghost blood. As a result, he can see in the dark, has superhuman eyesight, and can see through Yin Mist.
Or take our heroine, Yao Ying. When she was a child, a flesh-eating insect from an evil spirit burrowed into one of her wounds. Ever since, the insect, transformed from the power of a ghost, has lived in her bloodstream.
But everything in the world is an equivalent exchange.
A newbie is publishing a book. Please give me your support. This is a long strange novel. I made reference to the effect of the mysterious resuscitator who can obtain special abilities from ghosts. I will not copy it completely! I am also a fan of mysterious resurgences. I will update it three times a day. Friends who are interested in this book are welcome to follow it and read it! I will accept criticism humbly and carefully review the suggestions from book friends!
