My name is Chen Mo. I'm a psychological counselor.
My job isn't to heal people's hearts. It's to clean up the things that crawl out of them.
In my eyes, everyone's anxiety, fear, and guilt are tangible entities. They cling to their Hosts like parasites, gnawing away day after day. Ordinary people can't see them, though a few can sense them: that sudden plunge into despair, that invisible weight pressing on your chest when you jolt awake in the middle of the night.
I can see them, and I can "treat" them. My method is to implant a lie in them, making them believe they're already dead.
It always worked. Until an organization called "Resonance" emerged.
They told me monsters weren't an illness, but a cure. Humanity's hypocrisy was the true terminal disease. They intended to shatter this world built on lies.
And I'm the only one who can use lies to fight them.
The problem is, as my lies are peeled away layer by layer, I start to lose track of whether I'm saving this world or deceiving it.
