Five years later, you still have our photo on your phone?
Rain poured down as a black Bentley rolled through a puddle, splashing mud onto Su Xiayu's snow-white shirt.
The window rolled down, revealing Jiang Lin's chiseled profile.
"Mr. Su," he said in a low voice, "long time no see."
Su Xiayu's fingers paused. He looked up with a faint smile. "President Jiang, would you like to try the new coffee blend?"
In the conference room, Jiang Lin knocked over the coffee cup in front of everyone. "Mr. Su is still as good as ever at cutting his losses."
The phone fell to the floor, its screen lighting up
On the photo, worn pale from being handled so often, a younger Jiang Lin was kissing the top of his head.
The air went still.
The tips of Su Xiayu's ears turned faintly red. He bent to pick up his phone, his neck forming a stubborn arc. "President Jiang, here's the half-sweet Americano you asked for."
As he turned away, the sound of a suit brushing against itself came from behind
Jiang Lin grabbed his wrist.
"This time, let me be the one to ask you to cut your losses."
