The Taoist Is Busy Today, Too

The gifted young Taoist Chen Xuanqing was kicked out of his sect by his master. “You ungrateful brat! You used thunder magic to roast sweet potatoes, and the Eight Trigrams to make crickets fight!”

With half a copy of The Ten Thousand Arts Return to the Source tucked under his arm, he descended the mountain and stumbled into a city full of strange happenings.

A delivery guy runs into a hopping zombie at midnight. Chen Xuanqing calculates with his fingers: “Water in the Kan trigram clashes with fire in Li. Your fish tank is blocking the Kitchen God!”

An influencer livestreams a “ghost wall.” He tosses out three copper coins: “Dui is a marsh, and Xun is the wind... Sis, your wig is stuck in a tree!”

Behind a string of bizarre cases, he finds traces of forbidden arts practiced by a fellow disciple.

A feng shui formation hides a deadly trap. He lays out an Eight Trigrams formation: “Release a chicken at the Qian position, bury a durian at the Kun position. Formation broken!”

When his demon-hearted senior brother unleashes an ancient forbidden art, Chen Xuanqing steps through the ritual footwork and chants:

“What's the rush? Let me send the Patriarch a merit red envelope first...”
