Niu Er, One of the People

Writing without wit, humor, or philosophical insight is like a flat-chested woman; A life without the supernatural, geomancy, fortune-telling, and local color is also like a flat-chested woman; A life without the bite of everyday struggles and the clash between life and death is still like a flat-chested woman; Flat-chested women may not make your heart skip a beat at first sight, but Niu Er, who describes himself as one-third peasant, one-third intellectual, one-third bandit, and one-tenth leader, is a flat-chested man who is, in fact, unforgettable at first sight.
