Reborn in My Fair Princess: A Princess’s Rise to Power

Xiao Yanzi died the night she saved Consort Yu. Her spirit drifted above the Forbidden City, watching as her Imperial Father buried her in the royal mausoleum as his adopted daughter, making her the talk of the palace. She watched Jingyang Palace hung with red silk, though no one was happy. Ziwei, as everyone had hoped, married Erkang, but what Xiao Yanzi never expected was that neither Yongqi nor Ziwei would live to see thirty... In the Forbidden City, the tragedy of parents burying their children was always repeated... She tried to escape, but no matter what she did, she couldn’t get out... Later, she saw Consort Ling pass away, then the Empress Dowager, and finally her Imperial Father...

One day, a patch of white light suddenly appeared in the distance. She ran toward it at full speed. At last, at last she could leave this sorrowful place...

When she opened her eyes, she had returned to the age of eight, but not to the crowded courtyard. She was in the Xiao family at the height of its power, with a new name, Xiao Jiashu Wan. Her father held the office of Minister, and her mother came from a noble family. Everything was different from her previous life. Good. She didn’t want to be that fearless, ignorant Xiao Yanzi again anyway. This time, hehe...

Then, during the New Year, she followed her parents into the palace. Huh? Was her eyesight playing tricks on her? She barely recognized any of these consorts, and even the Empress didn’t look right. Wait, Prince An Yonglian? Who was that? The apple of Imperial Father’s eye wasn’t Yongqi anymore? Xiao Yanzi trembled: Who writes a rebirth story like this? No time to think about it. She needed to get out of there and stay alive. Just as she slung her bundle over her back and prepared to flee, a certain young man blocked her path...

A little rambling: There are too many regrets, so I wanted to write a happier ending. This won’t follow the original plot or history exactly, and includes some original elements. Xiao Yanzi’s official pairing is Ertai. Please steer clear if that bothers you!
