Deep Roots in the Countryside

Spring rain falls without end, nourishing this ancient land and awakening the earth from its slumber. In the fields, streams burble and tinkle. The clods turned up in the freshly plowed rice paddies glisten with shallow water, their soil especially fertile. Far away, rapeseed flowers cover the hillside in gold, like a golden sea gently swaying in the breeze. The wild grass by the road has come back to life, too, with pale yellow shoots poking their heads out one after another, as if announcing the arrival of spring to the world.
