In 2121, a massive earthquake struck Earth, reshaping humanity’s fate on an unprecedented scale. Countless enormous holes appeared out of nowhere on the planet’s surface, nearly swallowing human civilization whole. Only around six hundred million people remained, struggling to survive in the spaces between them.
When Fu Yu was six, his aunt, who had disappeared, crawled out of one of the holes and bit his whole family. Then she and his father vanished back into the hole, leaving only Fu Yu and his mother alive.
His mother died when he was in his teens, leaving him an orphan. One day, he found a corpse. Taking pity on the poor child, he decided to give the body a proper burial in one of the holes.
But after surviving countless brushes with death, the child’s corpse came back to life. By then, Fu Yu had come to depend on the child for emotional support, and resolved to raise him well. Several years passed, and Fu Jiangchu grew up just as Fu Yu had hoped. He clung tightly to Fu Yu, persistently asking in his ear, “No matter what I am, you’ll never abandon me, right?”
This book is super good-looking. It does not have too many emotional storylines of the protagonist. It is very concise and clear. It uses super delicate techniques to depict the characters and portray them vividly. I also like the author's description of the end of the world. It is really imaginative. Especially at the beginning, the description of the monsters under the black hole and the psychology of the characters is very vivid. Every time I go down the hole, no matter what people or things I encounter, the writing is very exciting.
To be honest, I have read 🍅 other apocalyptic novels. Most of them only talk about how the protagonist is awesome. It is not as imaginative as this book. Apocalyptic novels are just like reading about love.
Very very beautiful Good to see it exploded
