My Years Hunting Ghosts and Subduing Demons

Think the Investiture of the Gods War ended long ago? No. The grudges and grievances are only just beginning.

I, Shen Congdao, am the reincarnation of Wang Lingguan. But on an otherwise peaceful day in Heaven, its soldiers cruelly murdered my parents. From that moment on, we were enemies.

When I awakened, Heaven decided I could not be allowed to live, while Buddhism was eager to kill me. At my side stood only Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu reborn as a human, and Di Xin, the last Human Emperor and ruler of the Yin-Shang.

From a campus spirit-writing ritual to Thai black magic, from an Arhat descending into the world to a divine general turned zombie, from the Four Heavenly Kings to Jiang Ziya… Behind these seemingly unrelated events lies an ancient conspiracy concerning whether humanity’s fortunes can ever be restored.

This time, the golden whip in my hand is for no one but my brothers and the Dao in my heart!

(One heroine, a wish-fulfillment story, but also with Taoist ideas, talismans, and incantations woven in. It has a certain degree of specialized detail.)

(It’s finished, though you could say it ended badly. This is my first book, and it falls short in many ways. With my current writing ability, it’s hard to tell their stories in full. The ending in the second-to-last chapter can be understood to mean the protagonist will still face trouble later. There was plenty more I could have written, but nobody was reading, so I’ll leave it here. I want to apologize to myself, to the characters in the book, and to the readers. I updated almost every day for about a month, but things didn’t improve, and I couldn’t see any hope.)
