Waiting for You to See All the Years with Me

I wanted to go with you to every place I longed to visit. Only in the end did I realize that even reaching your side was difficult. The heaviest burden you've given me over these years is the endless cycle of parting and longing. It turns out missing someone can hurt right down to your bones. If I'd known how hard a long-distance relationship would be, and that after four years apart we'd have to endure another four years in different countries, I might not have had the courage to so easily say that I wanted to be with you. But love has no room for what-ifs. We have to bear the responsibility for this love and the weight of time. Besides, I had a part in making this choice. I'm willing, even glad, to endure the distance and wait patiently. Please also bear with the hurt my willfulness and capriciousness cause you. No matter how cold it gets, don't go embrace someone else.
