Drinking in the Mountain Snow

My childhood friend Yun Chao knelt beyond the Ninth Heaven for seven days and nights, all to break off his engagement to me and marry the mortal Mu Yan.

My heart turned to ash. I turned around and married Li Yuan, the Demon Lord who had pursued me for a thousand years.

For three years after our wedding, he cherished me beyond measure.

At long last, I became pregnant, only to discover that he had been secretly adding contraceptive medicine to my breakfast every day.

And on the side of the jade pendant he never let anyone touch was carved Mu Yan’s childhood name.

It turned out I was only an obstacle he had to remove for the woman he loved.

Because the Phoenix clan’s bloodline was special, he wanted to use mine

to give his beloved an immortal body and spare her the suffering of reincarnation.

My tears fell to the floor. I drank a potion that made me seem dead, and Li Yuan and I would never meet again.
