The One I Miss Most

[A rebellious, unruly boy VS a well-behaved girl who only seems sweet and obedient]

When Yan Ji was twenty-five, her mother became gravely ill, and the person she loved most left this world. Heartbroken and barely conscious, she heard a voice tell her she could return to the past and start over, changing the ending she faced now.

Back in the past with all her memories intact, Yan Ji found her way to Ye Heng once again. “This time, all I want is for you to be safe and happy.”

“Yan Ji, why are you always the one by my side?” Ye Heng asked, putting on a despairing look.

“If you get tired of me, I’ll leave for a while. But I’ll still come back.”

“Damn, you’re ruthless.”

“Is there someone you like?”

“Yes. There always has been.”

“Ye Heng, rise to where you’re meant to be. Don’t disappoint me.”

The setting sun fell across the boy, making his whole body seem to glow. It was as though this was how he was always meant to be.

“I’m sorry. I’m selfish. You’ll forget me, won’t you? But could you take a little longer to forget me?”
