This book constructs a doomsday world that has experienced "consciousness transformation" and "virus disaster". In the city of Victon, the former powerful tried to convert human consciousness into pure code to escape the fragility of flesh and blood, but instead caused a virus to rage, transforming some humans into "collapsers" who were half-mechanical and half-flesh. The story begins with "I" initiating a reversal program to return the controlled human consciousness to the physical body. Then, together with Lina, Anna and other survivors, I face the remaining virus threats, new mutant creatures, and conflicts between different groups of survivors. From fighting virus "seeds" to forming symbiosis with new life forms such as ferns and iron-eating vines, from a single settlement to uniting groups such as purists, the story focuses on "rebuilding trust and hope" and shows how flesh, metal, plants and memory work together to piece together the possibility of rebirth in the ruins of doomsday. It explores the deep themes of "pain and life", "confrontation and understanding" and "loneliness and symbiosis".
