Yang Lan is the chief editor of the copyright team at a certain website, nicknamed “Mountain Maple.”
At Monday's team meeting, his junior editors complain bitterly, grumbling about a newly risen online superstar.
The superstar makes one meal, and a million readers howl for a taste at once
But... he only works sporadically, and has turned down contracts time and again. He's the tough nut the team just can't crack!
“If he isn't signed or promoted, how does he have a million readers?”
“Yeah...” His group of young female editors droops like wilted cabbages.
Yang Lan decides to go in person and meet this “Master Yaoxin.”
The familiar scent of the snack street fills the air. Yang Lan thinks to himself that the master really is a hidden genius, content to stay out of the spotlight. Following the shared location, he finds the “master,” a bearded man holding a giant spatula. The man asks amiably, “Lan, what'll you have?”
Yang Lan: “...”
Something's not right!
How could the man making scallion pancakes possibly be...?
He hurriedly glances back, then freezes and rubs his eyes
A blond-haired guy who looks oddly familiar, with a back that looks oddly familiar, sprawled at a street stall and fighting a little mongrel dog for a jianbing guozi. His mixed-race childhood friend and sworn enemy, who spent ten years studying abroad and came back thin as a monkey, is now wolfing it down like a glutton!
Yang Lan turns and walks away. Whatever kind of master this guy is, he's not getting signed!
Then a fist slams into his back. A ghostly voice bursts out with a curse: “Hey! Yang Lan, what the hell are you doing here?”
Yang Lan turns around and kicks him. “Are you *ing stupid?”
Liu Yi throws a punch and returns the favor in front of everyone: “You're the one with a *ing screw loose!”
This book is quite good, but I don't know why the reviews didn't say much about it. The descriptions in some places are indeed a bit vague and difficult to understand, but they stayed together after the quarrel. It was great that the two puppies slept together after the fight.
