When the End Comes

(I'm a new writer, so the prose or logic may be a little rough. Please point out any issues.)

(No special abilities, just firearms and modern weapons and equipment.)

In a laboratory thick with smoke, a young woman wakes from unconsciousness to discover that a mysterious virus has leaked. To save the world, the girls set out on a journey without hesitation...

(The setting of this book is entirely fictional and does not maliciously disparage any country! Entirely made up! The military equipment featured is real; its descriptions are based on online sources and my own opinions. Please point out any issues. In all other respects, please don't use the real world as a reference.)

(There won't be any stockpiling of supplies. I'm not sure why that tag is there.)

(Note: At the beginning, most zombies are ordinary ones, with few special infected. They only appear in large numbers in the middle and later parts, when the characters visit certain important locations.)

(The setting borrows a tiny bit from Resident Evil, but not much. Really, just a little.)

(Please don't say modern equipment should be able to wipe out zombies instantly. Humanity's inability to beat them is necessary for the plot, necessary for the plot!!!!)
