After the System Disappeared, the Consort Stopped Pretending to Love the Emperor. So Why Is He Still Unhappy?

The coronation ceremony is tomorrow, but Shen Qingyuan is making her final preparations to escape the palace.

For the past five years, to complete the System's mission, she had no choice but to pretend she was deeply in love with Qin Junyao, helping him ascend the throne one step at a time. She became the emperor's cherished favorite, envied by everyone and favored above all others.

Now that the mission is complete and the System has left, she can finally be herself again.

But as soon as she stepped through the palace gates, she saw someone she never expected.

Back in the palace, she woke from a coma.

Qin Junyao's once tender, sweet face was now full of coldness and menace.

"Yuan'er, tell me, what will it take for your System to come back?"

When Qin Junyao was still a prince, he could hear Shen Qingyuan talking to a strange thing that called itself a System.

He watched as Shen Qingyuan, forced by the System, pretended to fall in love with him and produced one miraculous item after another to help him. He went along with it, showering Shen Qingyuan with a level of favor unmatched by anyone in order to help her complete her mission and earn more useful rewards.

As he climbed the throne step by step, he resolved to make good use of the System and accomplish great things.

He never expected the System to suddenly disappear on the eve of the coronation ceremony...
