Divorce Her and Marry Someone Else? The Noblewoman Gives Up Prayer and Takes Up the Blade

[Physical court and household intrigue + Face-slapping and scum punishment + Power Couple, Mutual Firsts + Feel-Good] [An orphaned noblewoman who recites Buddhist prayers while wielding a broadsword x A tyrant who seems unhinged but is even more deranged inside] Mu Fanxin enters the Cheng household in accordance with the late emperor’s decree. On their wedding night, the groom, Cheng Minzhi, is summoned away. She prays for his safety, cares for the family’s young and old, and waits two years for his return. Then he announces that he’s divorcing her to marry someone else! Cheng Minzhi sneers, “Mu Fanxin, you’re nothing but a sheltered woman who burns incense and prays to Buddha. Ji Jiang has prophetic powers and a bold, free-spirited nature. You could never hold a candle to her!” Ji Jiang gloats, “I came from the future. I’m the chosen woman, all-knowing and all-powerful! What right does a backward noblewoman who spends her time praying to Buddha have to compete with me for a man?” Mu Fanxin looks at the scoundrel and his mistress, silently sets down her prayer beads, and raises her broadsword. With one strike, she breaks down the door and ends the marriage. She may pray to Buddha, but she isn’t one herself! With another, she slays the enemy. She can manage a household and defend her country! And then there’s one more... She glances at the old acquaintances kneeling and weeping, then steps into the arms of the tyrant Murong Ao, who smiles as he offers her a blade. She’ll protect this demon of a man, the Buddha in her heart.
