The Kyushu Revelation, Book One

On the vast, desolate continent of Jiuzhou, the human-led Zheng dynasty has long prospered as the hegemon. By ancestral law, the states of Hanzhou and Qingzhou, as well as the Lan people and the Jiao people, must each send hostages when their heirs turn fourteen. One day, Suobude, sister of the heir to Hanzhou, and his younger brother Rurige arrive at the Zheng court with two thousand warriors, gold, and women, hoping to bring the heir, Weier Ya, home. But they run into a rebellion in Qingzhou, whose forces capture Wanzhou and advance like a landslide… Yet the shifting power and borders of Jiuzhou are not so simple. In the face of political schemes, there is no such thing as true love or family loyalty. He fought his way to the top through a trail of blood, yet could not even let himself weep. Amid the shifting tides of court politics, perhaps no one will emerge a winner.
