This book is compiled in accordance with the requirements of the National Defense Law of the People's Republic of China, the National Defense Education Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Military Service Law of the People's Republic of China, and in accordance with the relevant spirit of the "Military Course Syllabus for General Colleges and Universities" issued by the Ministry of Education, the General Staff Department, and the General Political Department. It mainly talks about China's national defense, military thought, international strategic environment, military high technology, information warfare and other military theories and common doctrines, small arms shooting, military topography, tactical basics, camping training and other military skills. In the process of writing this book, two principles were followed, namely, the unity of national policy and behavior, and the unity of reality and foresight. This book combines reality and many years of teaching experience, closely follows the characteristics of contemporary college students, highlights the main line of national defense construction, and grasps the key points of national defense education content. It goes from shallow to deep, from simple to complex in theory and practice, so that college students can comprehensively understand and basically master the relevant main knowledge of national defense construction, stimulate patriotic enthusiasm, achieve the purpose of enhancing national defense awareness, popularizing national defense theory, learning military knowledge, and transforming national defense education into national defense strength.
