Interstellar Wasteland: The Lost Terminal

"Boss, I found something!"

"Hmph, finally, something halfway decent."

Zhang Xiuli threw down the welding tool in his hand and tossed A Fei a battered hammer. A Fei's mechanical arm shot out and caught it. Then he shook his head, still wearing the same blank expression.

"Can it be fixed?" A Fei asked in a rusty mechanical voice.

"Fix what? Not a chance." Zhang Xiuli rolled his eyes, though he felt a little uneasy. The broken communications terminal before him had a few faint streams of light flickering across its screen. It looked like a piece of junk scavenged from an alien scrapyard. "Still, we don't have to dump it straight into the interstellar junkyard."

"Boss..." A Fei's eyes clicked open, and he grew extremely excited. "This thing looks like it could do something big."

"Heh. You really think a piece of junk like this can break the chains around the Wasteland Star System?" Zhang Xiuli sneered. "Besides, we're still alive. We can patch things up, but it's not like we're repairing a battleship."

"Just give it a try." A Fei held out the communications terminal again, as if it were an inexhaustible treasure.
