Fellow Travelers

The vast land of China is rich in resources. The Mongols dominate the north, Western Xia occupies the center, the Song Dynasty controls the southeast, and the Tibetan tribes hold the southwest. But as resources in the north grow increasingly scarce, the Mongol leader Amori leads his armies south to invade the Central Plains, ushering in a chaotic era of conflict between the Mongols and the Song. Mossy Town, where the young Chen Fengnian lives, is attacked by the Mongol army. His parents and younger sister are all killed, leaving him no choice but to wander north. By chance, he encounters an old man and receives a mysterious celestial map. He then carries it into the turbulent martial world, where he makes a close-knit group of friends and sets out with them to find a paradise in the far north. Little does he know that the old man has made the world his chessboard and laid out this game for Chen Fengnian.
