After spending thousands of years cultivating in the underworld, Sun Wukong prepares to be reincarnated. He sees an old woman beating and scolding her daughter-in-law, Yuzhen, and realizes that the old woman is the reincarnation of a White Bone Demon. Sun Wukong therefore transforms into Yuzhen and enters the Lin household.
Sun Wukong tells Yuzhen that he has bought her a large estate in the suburbs and hired servants for her, so she can recover in peace. Although Yuzhen’s health gradually improves, she cannot find her way out of the forest.
When President Lin returns home and sees Yuzhen looking better, he starts plotting whom to marry after his wife dies. The old woman keeps trying to beat Yuzhen, only to get hurt each time, while Sun Wukong makes the old woman’s tea taste like urine.
Sun Wukong gets the whole family, including the shrewish younger sister, completely under control. Yuzhen’s husband is a womanizer, so Sun Wukong finds a way to teach him a lesson. Sun Wukong exposes the Lin family’s many scandals, plunging the family into chaos. In the end, under Sun Wukong’s firm hand, the Lin family begins to reflect and change. Once his mission is complete, Sun Wukong leaves.
