[A talented, beautiful, calculating and scheming commandery princess x a rebellious young marquis, dazzlingly charming and a master strategist]
She was a commandery princess whose talent surpassed all others. She could compose poetry and wield a sword, and everyone adored her. An accidental fall into the water at age ten transformed her into a maid named A Lian, forcing her to witness the Nanman people's schemes unfold step by step. Their plot claimed the lives of her parents and elder brother, and she was then sent against her will to the Nanman palace, where she suffered endless humiliation.
When she awoke from her dream, she learned that four years had passed. The once-famous beauty of the capital had become a simple-minded girl. Fortunately, the Nanman plot had yet to be carried out. She continued to play the foolish beauty while secretly directing schemes and strategies, manipulating the Yan Kingdom and Nanman in the palm of her hand!
But then another vast conspiracy struck. Her father was beheaded, her mother imprisoned, and her brother exiled. Swallowing her hatred, she reshuffled the entire Yan Kingdom!
On this road of power plays and intrigue, a young man in fine clothes, riding hard and fast, burst into her world. Together, they schemed and strategized at every turn, sinking into darkness side by side.
Zhou Cihuai: Radiant as the clouds, clad in fine clothes and riding hard and fast, the dashing young man will eventually fall at the young lady's feet.
Xie Guai'an: A wolf in sheep's clothing, a delicate flower that devours people. The road to power is long and hard, but there will always be someone willing to sink into darkness with you.
Zhou Cihuai, you are the one I openly favor.
Xie Guai'an, you are the one exception to all my careful schemes.
