Guardians of Yin and Yang

Those blessed with great fortune always end up offending others, intentionally or otherwise. Someone consumed by envy might use such a person's birth date to place an evil object beside their path in life. Given enough time, the object will draw disaster toward them with its power.

Those plagued by endless misfortune, meanwhile, can seek out spiritually endowed objects and keep them close to share some of their burden.
