Lu Ran drives Xu Yuan back to the neighborhood parking lot. They walk out holding hands, and are about to swipe their cards at the entrance when the old man in the security booth perks up and calls out, “Young lady, you and your husband are getting along so well now!”
“That’s right, sir,” Xu Yuan replies with a knowing smile.
“The first time I saw you, you came over here crying that you’d argued with your husband and he’d left you behind!” the blunt old security guard blurts out right in front of Lu Ran, without a thought for Xu Yuan’s fate. She’s in for it now.
Lu Ran stares at him, completely baffled. “When did I ever argue with her and leave her behind?”
“At the beginning of this month. You didn’t have your key that day,” the guard says matter-of-factly.
Lu Ran recalls that night. No wonder Xu Yuan had managed to get inside. She’d even told the guard she was his wife, then turned the tables and claimed they’d argued and he’d abandoned her.
After thinking it over, Lu Ran glances at Xu Yuan and taps her dainty nose, praising her. “You’re pretty clever, you sly little fox.”
Xu Yuan gives him an embarrassed smile and asks cautiously, “So, are you still mad at me?”
“I’m not mad. I can’t get enough of you.” Lu Ran suddenly scoops her up.
The old man in the security booth coughs twice, then raises his voice in mock annoyance. “Are you two going to swipe your cards and go in, or are you just going to feed me dog food? Do you think I’m a dog bowl?”
Lu Ran gives the guard an apologetic smile, then carries Xu Yuan inside after swiping their cards…
Oh my God, it's so crazy
