[Apocalyptic Survival] + [Zombies] + [Superpowers] + [Growth] The first three chapters move a little slowly, so please bear with me. The story gets exciting later on.
“Make your choice, Lu Jin'an.” The mysterious man in black spoke coldly, holding two pills in his hand. “Blue: become a millionaire. Red: hunt demons in the apocalypse.”
I, Lu Jin'an, was a young man long sick of my white-collar life. Looking at the two pills, I felt nothing. “Red.” I chose the challenge without hesitation.
“I hope you won't regret your choice.” The man in black smiled, then vanished in an instant.
The apocalypse has come. Monsters roam, and human nature is vicious. Fighting alongside my loyal dog Bruce, I swear to uncover the truth behind it all.
One night, as we rested on the prickly grass, I couldn't help asking, “Bruce, what would have happened if I'd picked the blue pill that day?”
He smiled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “At least you wouldn't be sleeping on prickly grass at night.”
“What else, Bruce?” I pressed, curious.
He shook his head, his tone firm. “Nothing. That's the blue pill's only benefit. No fool would really choose such a boring life, right, Lu Jin'an?”
I laughed and patted his head. “Of course. A life full of adventure and challenges is worth living!”
Bruce is a good subject, but I don't like the supporting characters, the international killer, Sister Mei, an arrogant and dangerous woman. Maybe the author likes this. If it were me, I would kill her on the spot. She is pretentious, unsociable, and dangerous. I won't keep her anyway, even if her ability is very important [laughs awkwardly]
