Paradise at Dawn

[Modern Romance] [Everyday Love Story] [Mutual Healing] [Building a Career from Scratch] [Realistic Fiction] [No System] [Heartwarming]

Deep down, I am an extreme idealist. I used to think I would be like the old tree by my family home, staying rooted in a tiny corner of the world until my life simply ran out.

But when I think about it carefully, that isn't quite right.

That tree is rooted in its native soil. If it stands there quietly, it may well outlive me.

It doesn't have to struggle to put food on the table, bear the crushing weight of reality, or navigate complicated social ties. All it has to do is stand there quietly, living an unremarkable life.

I truly used to think my life would go no further than that. But fate didn't seem willing to let me spend my days in this old house until my life ran out. It insisted on adding a few unexpected twists to my life, dull as still water.

On my first visit to Nanjing, I was swept into a maelstrom of competing interests. In this unfamiliar city, I met all kinds of people, each carrying their own burdens. And step by step, in Nanjing's dawn, I found my own haven.

Before the rain stops, fall in love with this city.
