Drunk on Peach Blossoms

Lin Zhaoguogong's only son has hated me since childhood, but he could not disobey his father's orders and had no choice but to marry me. To rebel, he refused to enter the bridal chamber on our wedding day. Instead, he held a wedding for his concubine and lifted her veil. After we married, he spent his days and nights carousing in the pleasure quarters, doing one outrageous thing after another. The entire capital made me the butt of their jokes and gossip. Lin Zhao listened to their unrestrained laughter and said, "Good. He brought it all on himself." Just when everyone thought I would keep swallowing my grievances, I produced the divorce agreement I had prepared long ago. I smiled at him with ease. "Now I'm finally free." That very day, Lin Zhao burned everything connected to me. Even the bridal chamber we once shared was reduced to ruins in a blaze.
