Lin Momei, More or Less

Though she knew that a life of splendor and excess must have something wrong with it, to seventeen-year-old Lin Momei, everything seemed more or less the same.

At seventeen, she missed out on the university she had dreamed of since childhood, and felt more relief than worry. At university, as she continued searching for her own worth, she grew ever more deeply entangled with a man as gentle as moonlight. Yet, as Shen Congwen once said, "Life is such a fragile thing. It can no more withstand the storms of time than a flower can."

At twenty-seven, Lin Momei finally understood how a tiny difference can lead to a world of difference, and found a career to which she could devote her whole life. Her empty heart was finally filled, but then she encountered another beam of moonlight much like the first. Will everything she lost really return in another form?
