An Analysis of the Yinfu Jing

A wondrous book for the ages, its pages conceal profound mysteries. Observe heaven and earth: yin and yang meet and mingle, and change is without end. The secret of seizing opportunity lies in the eyes; the heart must be still. The Way of nature carries a lasting rhythm. How many in this world, I lament, are blinded by desire and rush about in vain?

The wisdom of sages sees waxing and waning, knows movement and stillness, and understands life and death. Hold fast to truth and constant serenity, and virtue will fill the heavens. The five thieves within the heart must be kept in check; with the Three Powers within, do not grow arrogant. Grasp the true scripture, remain detached and true to your first resolve, and welcome the rosy dawn.
