Betrayal

There is a sharp contrast between the two women in the novel. Zheng Wenjun's mother is a university professor. She graduated from a prestigious school and is an elementary school English teacher. She teaches well, which has become her pride. When she serves as the teaching director of a key elementary school, she thinks she is successful in her career. She looks down on her husband who does all the housework and her younger brother and sister-in-law who just want an ordinary life. If anything prevents her from getting promoted, the family can give up and ask her elderly parents to manage their biological daughters for her. This has never happened. Thinking that it was everyone's help that made her successful, she looks very self-centered, but is actually very selfish and even ruthless; and her sister-in-law Jiang Hui is a pragmatic person, who works and lives in a down-to-earth manner, does not avoid problems when encountering them, actively solves them, educates her children well, helps her family but does not play without principles, and handles her sister-in-law's unreasonable requests in a reasonable and measured manner. She looks very ordinary, but is full of wisdom. This is an independent and wise mature woman, and I like women like Jiang Hui very much.
