Just because I unwrapped a piece of candy in Dad’s car, he threw me out on the highway.
“You’re just as selfish as your mother. You never care about how anyone else feels!”
His face was ice-cold, his voice sharp as a blade.
“You think having a kid will tie me down? Dream on! I don’t want either of you anymore!”
I stood by the car window, clutching my candy and bawling. “Daddy, Beibei saw you were unhappy and wanted to give you some candy. Beibei didn’t mean to. Daddy, don’t leave Beibei behind.”
I chased Dad’s car through the traffic, crying, but he sped away without a second thought.
When the gale kicked up by a passing car knocked me to the ground, I saw layers of flowing text suddenly appear in the air.
“Serves her right! Doesn’t she know a man’s car is his second most precious possession? If she dared eat in my car, I’d beat her to death!”
