My Childhood Friend Faked a Proposal, but I Really Got the Marriage Certificate

At my twentieth birthday party, my childhood friend Lu Chuyang knelt on one knee with a diamond ring in hand.

“Yueyue, will you marry me?”

With tears in my eyes, I nodded.

But just as I held out my hand, Lu Chuyang suddenly slipped the ring onto my best friend Gu Xiyue's finger instead.

The room fell silent for a moment, then erupted in laughter.

Lu Chuyang mocked me too. “It was just a joke. Jiang Lanyue, you didn't actually think I was serious, did you?”

I said nothing, just smiled and looked past Lu Chuyang's shoulder.

“Xinghe, I bet that Lu Chuyang would propose tonight, and I won.

“You have to honor our bet. Let's go register our marriage tomorrow.”
