In Republican-era Luoyang, the protagonist, Chen Yuan, is a young craftsman skilled in mechanical contraptions. As an ancient capital with a history spanning millennia, Luoyang is riddled with underground tombs. After his family is struck by disaster, Chen Yuan is forced into the world of tomb raiding.
